Giving us a look at the much larger world, outside of North America, would be a rad twist.Īlso, there's really no other explanation for why Rick wouldn't have made it back to his daughter Judith by now (aside from him being dead, which obviously won't be the case). This project isn't a series of movies anymore, but it seems safe to say that some of the concepts from the movies will wind up on the series. Moving the show to a different country would also feed into everything Gimple and Lincoln used to say about the movies involving yet-unseen worlds, new corners, and things fans have been saying for years that they want to see in a zombie apocalypse. So wouldn't it be easier if the new show was shot somewhere else? The show has generally been improved since the Negan era, but Rick, and also Carl’s presence have been missed. The show has trucked on without Rick, replacing him in major comic storylines with a few characters, Daryl, Carol, Maggie and others, assuming leadership roles. As Hurd says, the movies are supposed to be big enough in scope to warrant a move like that.īut, it’s been silence. While he will never make it back to the main series before it ends, which is now clear, this movie trilogy was supposed to be a middleground, keeping him in the story and giving AMC a chance to take a series of Walking Dead movies to theaters.
